Greenway Dental to build new location at Mull, Green streets
Two other projects are more mysterious
A new location for Greenway Dental is in the works after Hurricane Helene flooded and destroyed its location in River Village.
The dentistry moved to its current, temporary location at 507 E. Parker Road near EmergeOrtho Morganton in October 2024, according to Brittany Wilhide, who works at Greenway Dental.
The team had been operating out of the River Village location off Sanford Drive for more than a decade before the storm displaced them.

The new, permanent location will be at 1151 N. Green St., which was readdressed from 101 Mull Lane. The property is east of Country Town Tire & Auto and west of BelleVi Med Spa.
Wilhide said the business hopes to move into the new building within the next year.
CATAWBA BREWING BUILDING
Something is going on at the former Catawba Brewing building, at 212 S. Green St. What that is remains a mystery.

The building had been purchased for a new Morganton location of Hillman Beer, complete with a restaurant and brewing. Those plans never got off the ground, and the temporary taproom on South Sterling Street in Morganton closed April 19.
When asked about the new activity at the building, owner Greig Hillman told The Paper he had no updates for Morganton.
No new construction permits have been issued for the building, according to the City of Morganton.
TOWNHOMES IN DREXEL
A developer is working to bring townhomes to Burns Street in Drexel, according to Senior Community and Regional Planner Teresa Kinney, who works for Western Piedmont Council of Governments.
There’s no set address currently and plans are still in a preliminary stage, but the developer is planning on two-bedroom, two-bathroom units with no garage. Kinney also responded that the developer is planning to include outdoor space and a multi-use path as amenities.
The name of the developer is to be announced; there is no set date for construction to begin.
