Get your New Year’s Eve celebration off to a great start and take a first look at the new theater space at the Burke Arts Council (BAC) by attending “The Art of Optimism,” the council’s end-of-year fundraising effort to benefit artists and art programs affected by Hurricane Helene.
According to BAC Executive Director Deborah Jones, participants can look forward to an evening of food, drinks, live music, dancing and a silent auction. She encourages attendees to dress in New Years Eve attire for the gala event.
“The Art of Optimism” will feature special music throughout the evening by Adam MacKay on piano, jazz guitar duo Joe Hasty and Dick Hull, Daniel Leich on violin and violin duo Morgan Jeter and Molly Barrett.
According to Jones, silent auction items will include art, packages from local businesses, and food, among other items.
“The Art of Optimism” will be held on Dec. 31 from 4-8 p.m. at the Burke Arts Council, 506 S. Sterling St., Morganton. Tickets are available for $75 online at burkearts.org if purchased by Dec. 26. They will be sold at the door for $80.
