Burke County Assistant District Attorney Jacquelyn Lane was recognized from more than 50 nominations statewide to earn the Children’s Advocacy Centers of North Carolina (CACNC) Outstanding Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Partner Award.
The distinction recognizes her work supporting child abuse investigations and prosecutions at the Burke County Children’s Advocacy Center of Southmountain Children and Family Services.
Lane embodies the core values of MDT collaboration: partnership, professionalism and a child-centered approach, ensuring that child victims are protected, heard and supported.
An MDT is a collaborative group of professionals from various fields who come together to address the often complex issues related to child abuse cases.
“CACNC appreciates and values all the hard work and dedication each of our MDT partners puts into these cases for children,” said Brandi Glenn, membership coordinator for CACNC.
“We are extremely proud of Jacquelyn and thankful for her true commitment to the children and families we serve at the Burke County Children’s Advocacy Center,” said Chris Jernigan, executive director of Southmountain Children and Family Services. “The Burke County MDT is one of the best in the state and this award highlights that.”
“Jacquelyn exemplifies the best of an MDT partner, fierce in pursuing justice and compassionate toward child victims and their families,” said Jennifer Gold, director of Burke County CAC. “Her impact on Burke County’s MDT is truly remarkable, ensuring every voice is heard and every decision serves the children.”
“We are very fortunate to have Jacquelyn on our team,” said Mitch Walker, chief assistant district attorney for Burke County. “She has the experience, the intelligence, the grit, and the compassion it takes to successfully prosecute and manage these difficult and demanding cases involving child victims.”
