A Morganton benefits adviser is connected to two national award-winning employee health plans, a recognition that points to a growing employer focus on lowering healthcare costs while improving access and quality for workers.
Custom Benefits Solutions, an employee benefits advisory firm led by Cristy Gupton of Morganton, announced that two of its clients have been named 2026 Rosie Award winners.
The awards were presented July 30 during RosettaFest 2026, Health Rosetta’s annual gathering of employers, advisers, and clinicians focused on changing how employer health plans are designed and delivered.
For Burke County readers, the local connection is Gupton’s work as a Morganton-based adviser helping employers build health plans intended to control costs while improving care for employees and families.
One of the winning clients, Moose Pharmacy, is a 144-year-old independent community pharmacy and direct primary care clinic with locations around Charlotte. The company earned national recognition for the second time for what the release described as a health plan that outperforms the market on cost, quality, and employee experience.
Another client, Cornerstone Care Group, a 60-year-old independent community pharmacy and direct primary care clinic group with three locations in rural North Florida, also won the Rosie Award for the second time.
The competition was broad. According to the release, more than 10,000 employers are part of the Health Rosetta ecosystem. More than 2,000 plans were evaluated, 182 advanced as finalists, and 88 were named Rosie Award winners.
The award process is based on evidence, according to the release. Winners are judged using Health Rosetta’s Plan Grader score, how they reinvest savings generated by improved plan design, and their willingness to share lessons so other employers can learn from their approach.
For employees, the practical value is easier access to care, lower out-of-pocket pressure, and health benefits designed around real workforce needs. For employers, the release says those plans can help recruit and retain workers in a competitive labor market.
Cornerstone Care Group credited Gupton’s guidance in helping build a plan focused on high-quality, affordable care while managing healthcare spending.
“Winning the Health Rosetta Rosie Award for the second year in a row is a tremendous honor and a testament to what is possible when employers take a different approach to healthcare,” Cornerstone Care Group said in the release.
Gupton said the recognition reflects the clients’ commitment to transparency, employee experience, and care quality.
“It is a privilege to work alongside Moose Pharmacy and Cornerstone Care Group,” Gupton said. “Their commitment to transparency, employee experience, and exceptional care has produced one of the strongest health plans in the country.”
