Just off Interstate 40, drivers can see progress at the new Village Inn Pizza, located on Bush Drive in Morganton, is coming along. The assistant manager at the Burkemont Avenue location said customers can expect the Bush Drive location to be open by the end of summer.

Hoke Enterprises was on-site last week at the Carbon City Road location, installing wood framing on the roof. Anthony Pariseau, superintendent for Hoke Enterprises, said owners are deciding on the color choices for the metal top. Hoke Enterprises will oversee the roofing, plumbing, restrooms, break rooms, and the showroom floor.

OLLIE’S
Onlookers perusing West Union Plaza may notice the end of the plaza looking a little brighter. The store has put out hiring signs and set up two hiring events this month. The company held two job fairs, April 23 and April 30, at the Quality Inn in Morganton. In addition to retail sales associates, Ollie’s is also looking for a retail assistant store manager.
Ollie’s is now hiring for the West Union Plaza location.

WECARE PHARMACY
After the damage from Hurricane Helene, Smoothie King chose not reopen its Independence Boulevard location. The building will soon be home to an independently owned pharmacy, WeCare Pharmacy. The full-service compounding and specialty pharmacy, which also handles pet prescriptions, is based in Virginia.
WeCare Pharmacy will be moving into the old Smoothie King on Independence Blvd.
