VanNoppen-Patton

Mr. and Mrs. Allen VanNoppen of Morganton announce the engagement of their daughter, Jean Bernhardt VanNoppen, to Charles Christian Patton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Frederick  Patton, Jr. of Morganton. 

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Donnell VanNoppen and the late Dr. and Mrs. James Rountree Collett all of Morganton. She is a graduate of Centre College in Kentucky and is employed as COO of VanNoppen Marketing.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. Charles Frederick Patton Sr. of Morganton and wife Sara Patton of Greensboro, and Mr. Clyde Astor Shuping of Morganton and his wife, the late Mickie Shuping. He is a graduate of Appalachian State University and is a principal in Hawthorne Construction Co. 

The wedding will be held on April 29 at First Presbyterian Church in Morganton.

Toner-Carswell

Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Toner of Morganton announce the engagement of their daughter, Ally Setzer Toner to Tanner Christian Carswell, son of Mr. Barry Carswell of Valdese, and Brian and Shannon Detter of Hickory.

The bride-elect is a 2016 graduate of Patton High School, a 2020 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Science, and a 2022 graduate of Central Piedmont Community College as an occupational therapy assistant.

The groom-elect is a 2016 graduate of Draughn High School, and a 2020 graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor's degree in marketing with a concentration in sales.

The groom-elect is employed by James Tool Machine and Engineering as a regional sales manager.

The wedding will be held June 24 at The Ridge in Asheville.
