Beginning Saturday, Aug. 30, The Paper will be delivered to your home by the United States Postal Service (USPS).
The Paper will continue to be sold at leading retail stores.
Your newspaper will still arrive on Saturdays — the same day, just in a new way: delivered directly into your mailbox, reliably and dry, even on rainy mornings.
This change allows us to avoid dramatically increasing subscription rates due to cost increases across all areas of our operations — including rising health care costs, utilities, tariffs, and the escalating price of print paper and ink.
By switching to USPS, we’re making a practical move that helps us continue investing where it matters most: In quality, responsible, and thorough coverage of Burke County.
This is not new in the newspaper world. Nearly every major publication delivered in our market — including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Charlotte Observer, and even our neighbor The News Herald — now delivers via USPS.
Thank you for your continued support of The Paper and the mission of strong, independent local journalism. If you have any questions, our team is here to help.
With appreciation,
Allen VanNoppen
