In the wake of the recent primaries, I would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to the judges, district attorneys, county commissioners, and other candidates who emerged victorious in Burke County.

FOR THE PAPERTheir achievements reflect the trust placed in them by our community, and it is important to recognize the significance of their success.
These leaders now carry the responsibility of upholding the values and promises they advocated throughout their campaigns.
As public servants, they have been granted a mandate to guide Burke County with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to unity.
I celebrate their accomplishments and encourage them to honor the public trust as they step into their roles, knowing that their actions will shape the future of our county.
Succeeding in a primary is more than just a personal achievement — it is a testament to the confidence placed in them by the people they will serve.
I commend each of them for their commitment to public service and the hard work that made their success possible.
Now is the time for all elected officials of Burke County to come together and focus on the future. Commissioners, in particular, have an important role to play.
It is crucial that ideological differences are set aside so that progress can be made on the strategic plan presented by the county manager and endorsed by them.
The challenges that Burke County faces will require collaboration from each commissioner.
It is time to move beyond rhetoric about being the only conservative on the board and embrace the responsibility of governing with vigor — ensuring that every decision is made for the benefit of all Burke County residents, not just select groups.
True leadership demands that commissioners serve the entire county, fostering fairness and unity in every action they take.
I urge all commissioners to fulfill the promises they made during their respective campaigns by being accessible and responsive to their constituents.
This starts with not blocking citizens on Facebook or other platforms but instead furthering open dialogue and transparency.
It is time to stop working in silos and recognize that the best way forward is through teamwork and listening to all voices, not just those aligned with one ideological agenda or your own personal beliefs.
Burke County stands at a pivotal crossroads, where the actions commissioners take today will echo across generations.
I hope our commissioners embrace this moment with a shared vision and determination, not only to build a stronger, more united community but also to ensure that accountability and trust are the bedrock of their leadership.
When every official upholds their promises and every resident feels they are respected, a foundation is laid for a county where hope and progress flourish.
Congratulations once again to the winners who have earned the community’s faith — now, let us take bold steps forward, hand in hand, toward a future that truly reflects the best of Burke County.
