DATA CENTER MORATORIUM

Hildebran has halted data center development for 12 months, putting on hold a project that a publicly traded AI infrastructure company continues promoting to investors. DigiPower X owns about 40 acres near a major electrical switchyard and envisions a large-scale campus with up to 150 megawatts of computing capacity. Seven stained-glass panels will soon transform Downtown Drexel Park while honoring the hands that built the town. Created by Drexel native Dan Hoyle, “A Community of Hands” celebrates the workers, teachers, faith leaders, business owners, and others who shaped the community. In Saturday’s edition, learn about the vision behind the project and why residents are being invited to bring their own shovels to Wednesday’s groundbreaking.

DREXEL FAIR WRAPS UP

Today and tomorrow are the last two days to enjoy the annual Drexel Fair, 220 Fairgrounds Road, Drexel. The fairgrounds open today at 5 p.m. with entertainment at 7 p.m. by Rocky Yelton and The Hired Guns. On Saturday, the gate opens at 4 p.m. The Roadrunnerz Band will take the stage at 7 p.m. Both nights feature fireworks at about 10:30 p.m. Admission is free but you'll need to bring your wallet to enjoy the rides and food.
