Dear Class of 2025,

What a journey it has been! You were my first class at BMC. Your hard work and accomplishments have paid off! I’m very proud to have served as your principal. From your first steps onto campus at orientation, full of curiosity and nerves, to this proud moment of graduation — you’ve grown in remarkable ways.

You built friendships during orientation, Fall Fest, JamBooRee, and Spring Fling, found joy in the rhythms of First Fridays, and showed resilience when Hurricane Helene tested us all. And of course, prom was a beautiful celebration of how far you’ve come — and how brightly you shine.

Each of these moments has shaped your time here at Burke Middle College.

At BMC, we reference Robert Frost’s poem The Road Not Taken often. So, I find it fitting to reference it one more time. Just like the speaker had to decide which path to take, you, too, must decide which path you will take after graduation. Whether it be the workforce, continuing your education, joining the military, or taking a gap year, make the most of your choice. You chose BMC and we at BMC are better for knowing you! My hope is that you will continue to ‘travel’ and make indelible memories with those you meet on your road.

You’re not just graduating BMC — you’re stepping into your future, equipped with knowledge, confidence, and memories that will last a lifetime.
