This week teens are going to geek-out at the library. Join us on Monday, April 14, at the C.B. Hildebrand Public Library at 6 p.m. for this month's Anime Club.
Tuesday, April 15, will be a campaign session of D&D @ the Library for adults and teens online at 4 p.m. Pre-registration is required to access the game module and space is extremely limited.
We will wrap up the week with our monthly Crochet Club at the Valdese Public Library at 6 p.m. This program is open to adults and teens with no pre-registration required.

ADULT PROGRAMMING
The Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale will continue on Saturday, April 12, at the Collett Street Recreation Center. The general sale is from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
During this part of the sale, hardback books are $2, paperback books are $1, and children’s books are 50 cents each.
At 12:30 p.m., the sale will be halted for half an hour and then resume from 1 to 3 p.m. with a bag sale. Shoppers may fill a brown bag with books during these two hours for only $7 per bag.
Shoppers are asked to bring bags/ boxes into which to place their purchases. Only cash or checks are accepted for book purchases. Credit and debit cards will not be accepted.

Children’s Programming
Our popular scavenger hunts and iSpy tanks are ready for April!
Find all of the bees flying around in the Youth Services Department of the Morganton Public Library. Turn your completed paper into the YS circulation desk for a prize.
The scavenger hunt is for children of all ages. One prize per child per month.
At the C.B. Hildebrand Public Library, find all the letters and clues in the children's area to solve the Easter riddle. Turn in your answer sheet at the circulation desk for a special prize.

The Valdese Public Library will have their iSpy tank all ready to go for April as well! Children are invited to find all the objects on the list and may turn in their completed form for one prize per month.
Let's celebrate our planet Earth at the Morganton Public Library with stories, nature crafting, and making a clay seed bomb to take home and plant.
Ms. Carolina from the Western Piedmont Council of Governments will be back with an Enviroscape Model to demonstrate the effects of stormwater run-off.
This program will be Tuesday, April 22, at 4 p.m. and is for children 12 years old and under. Pre-registration is required.
Libraries Closed
All locations of the Burke County Public Library will be closed Friday, April 18, and Saturday, April 19, for Easter.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are needed at the Morganton Public Library to assist with landscape maintenance. We need some folks to help us keep our landscaped areas free of weeds and debris. If you would like to help call Library Director Jim Wilson at 764-9276 or email at jwilson@bcpls.org.
eBooks @ your library
Nearly 6,000 Burke County Public Library users have registered to use the library’s digital collection available through the e-iNC consortium and NC Kids Digital Library.
This digital collection includes eBooks, audiobooks, and streaming video available to Burke County Public Library cardholders.
Apps are available for download for a variety of devices including Kindle, iPhone, and Android phones. Go to http://omc.overdrive.com to see the apps.
To access the collection and download items go to http://e-inc.lib.overdrive.com and follow the instructions to set up an account. You will need to know your library card number and your PIN.
