NCWorks Career Center moving to Western Piedmont campus

The NCWorks Career Center – Burke is preparing to move to a new location on the campus of Western Piedmont Community College.

Currently at 720 E. Union St., the center will officially close its doors on Tuesday, Oct. 28, and reopen at its new site in the K Building at 200 E. College Drive on Monday, Dec. 1.

The center will continue to operate under its regular schedule:

• Monday and Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Wednesday: 8 a.m. to noon.

During the transition period, customers can still access NCWorks services by calling 828-468-6947 or 828-759-4680 to schedule virtual appointments or visit one of our many service access points.

NCWorks Career Centers offer a wide range of free services to job seekers, including:

• Career assessments and guidance
• Access to training and education programs
• Job fairs and workshops
• Labor market insights
• Job search support
• Resumé and cover letter assistance
• Interview preparation
• Free computer and internet access

Specialized services are also available for veterans, young adults, migrant/seasonal farm workers, and justice-involved individuals. Employers benefit from complimentary services such as recruitment support, applicant screening, labor market data, and access to training resources.

The Western Piedmont Workforce Development Board oversees NCWorks Career Centers in Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba counties, and operates within the Workforce Development Department of the Western Piedmont Council of Governments. The board also provides strategic direction and administrative support for workforce initiatives throughout the region.
