Why are you seeking election?

I have the desire to serve and give back to my community for all they have given me. I am a people person and have dedicated most of my life to helping the underprivileged. I will be a voice for people who perceive they do not have a voice.

IF ELECTED, WHAT WILL BE YOUR PRIMARY FOCUS DURING YOUR FIRST SIX MONTHS IN OFFICE?

I'll address our infrastructure which is in poor condition and most people see this every day. As I approach this position, I am sure I will find other areas to address. I plan on having office hours at City Hall bi-weekly to address the concerns of citizens who cannot attend City Council meetings.

WHAT ARE SOME WAYS MORGANTON CAN OVERCOME THE CURRENT HOUSING SHORTAGE?

While driving around Morganton, I see a lot of vacant houses. Are these houses vacant because the building codes are too stringent? Several years ago, the city had a fair housing committee. I would like to see this reinstated  to help address this, along with the help of local landlords.

IF ELECTED AS A PUBLIC SERVANT, WHAT LEGACY DO YOU HOPE TO ACHIEVE DURING YOUR TENURE IN OFFICE?

That I left the City Council better than it was when I was elected and to know that I have helped the community in some small way.
