Two properties within a quarter of a mile of each other are undergoing significant changes. The former KFC/Taco Bell location at 324 Carbon City Road is being demolished due to extensive vandalism and disrepair, with plans for redevelopment to support multiple uses including a fast food restaurant and retail establishments. Just blocks away, The Honey Hog Restaurant is also undergoing demolition and reconstruction, preserving aspects of the former Genes Drive-In location while introducing new features such as a smokehouse, bar patio, and fire pit. The new and improved Honey Hog is expected to open in 2025.
