Two new pieces of Valdese history will soon be on display at the Waldensian Heritage Museum: a car owned by the first mayor and the town’s first firetruck.

"Blast from the Past: Photo Scan and Genealogy Days" event on May 2 and 3, where guests can bring photographs of Valdese or its early Waldensian residents to be scanned into the museum's archives at no cost.Â

Valdese’s Waldensian Heritage Museum is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a free gala event on September 21. Executive Director Gretchen Costner invites the public to the festivity on Rodoret Street starting at 3 p.m., featuring live music, culinary delights including salsiccia, children's activities, and new items at the gift shop.
