A series of violent incidents have shaken Burke County in the past month, prompting some online users to refer to the area as "Bloody Burke." Sheriff Robert "Banks" Hinceman, while acknowledging the nickname, emphasized that Burke County does not have disproportionately higher crime rates compared to surrounding areas.
