Morganton man arrested on trafficking charges

When a Burke County Sheriff’s Office deputy recognized James Robert Lee Hughes, 42, of Morganton, as he drove with a revoked license on Monday, the deputy conducted a traffic stop and a search of the vehicle, allegedly discovering 30 grams of methamphetamine in multiple bags — “a trafficking amount,” according to the sheriff’s office.
