A beloved Burke County Christmas tradition is the 48th annual J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center’s parade happening on December 5th at 300 Enola Rd. in Morganton. The procession, featuring marching bands, fire trucks, floats, and Santa Claus, starts at 3 p.m. The Grand Marshal is Paralympic Triathlon Games silver medalist Carson Clough, and WBTV News Anchor Alex Giles will also make a special appearance. The parade kicks off the center's festive holiday light display showcasing scenes from storybooks, TV shows, and movies, open daily from 5:30 to 10 p.m. until December 31st. On parade day, traffic around the center will be one-way, with parking available on-campus only due to limited space from ongoing construction.
