Burke County offered two great reasons to get out into the warm sunshine this week: the annual Drexel Spring Carnival and the Burke County Spring Fair.
If you haven’t made out to either, no need to worry. You still have time.
The Drexel Spring Carnival ends Saturday, April, 18. Hours are 5-10:45 p.m. Tanya and the Roudrunnerz Band will take the entertainment stage at 7 p.m. As always, admission is free.
Costs vary for rides, games, and food. All the fun is at the fairgrounds at 220 Fairground Road in Drexel (just behind the R.O. Huffman Community Center). Learn more at drexelfair.com.
The Burke County Spring Fair hasn’t happened in years making this year’s event extra special. Gates open at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19. Like the Drexel carnival, the amusement rides are from B&K Amusement. The midway is by Reithoffer Shows.
Admission is $10 for ages 13 and older, $5 for ages 7-12, and 6 and younger are admitted free. Costs vary for rides, games, and food.
The Burke County Fairgrounds is at 145 Bost Road in Morganton. Learn more at burkecountyfairgrounds.org.
