Ruby is a gorgeous 10-month-old young lady who is ready to take on the world. To use her foster mom’s words, she can be a little bossy.
Along with her beautiful black-and-gray striped coat, she has dreamy green eyes that capture your attention. She is friendly, funny, and playful. She enjoys spending time with other cats and does well with children as well. Ruby adores people but is a little slow to warm up to new people.
She will need a person who will let you trust at her own pace. She lost her home when her owner was evicted and hasn’t felt truly settled since.

Burke Animal Resource Center: Rowan
Rowan

Rowan is a sweet and gentle 1-year-old pup with the softest eyes and an even softer heart. Found as a stray and never reclaimed, Rowan has taken everything in stride. He’s neutered, microchipped, and dog-friendly, making him an easy fit for many homes. Rowan’s calm, kind nature shines through in everything he does, and he’s ready to share that warmth with a family of his own.
Burke Animal Resource Center is at 425 Kirksey Drive, Morganton. The shelter is closed on Sundays and Mondays, and open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The phone number is 828-764-9588.
All dog and puppy adoptions are $40; cat and kitten adoptions are $20. All adoptions include spay/neuter, a one-year rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), standard core preventative vaccines, a monthly flea preventative, and dewormer as needed.
