Western Piedmont Symphony to perform at CoMMA

The strains of symphonic music will fill the air at the City of Morganton Municipal Auditorium (CoMMA) on Wednesday, Dec. 18, as the Western Piedmont Symphony comes to town to perform its 2024 holiday concert. The regional ensemble will perform an evening of holiday songs and winter music classics.
Led by Maestro Matthew Troy, the Symphony will perform classic Christmas songs, seasonal movie music, and an array of family favorites and holiday hits.
According to Events Manager Amber Austin, doors will open for the festive evening at 6 p.m. for season ticket holders.
“In addition to hearing all of their favorite holiday hits, patrons will be treated to a preshow reception with a variety of refreshments to celebrate the season,” Austin said. Single-event ticket holders can enter at 6:30 p.m.
Western Piedmont Symphony (WPS) is the professional orchestra of the western foothills of North Carolina. For 60 years, WPS has enriched and engaged the communities of western North Carolina through high-quality symphonic music with creative performances and educational opportunities for all ages.
Each season, the Symphony presents a classical Masterworks series featuring acclaimed classical guest artists, a fun and unique Foothills Pops series, varying ensembles in the Crossroads series, family-friendly Discovery concerts, plus education and community engagement programs in the Catawba Valley, all under the artistic direction of Maestro Troy.
Tickets for the performance range from $23-$58 for adults and $10 for students (plus sales tax).
