Liberty's Black, McCoy receive FAC player of the year awards
Liberty Middle School eighth grader Mason Black was recently
selected as the Foothills Athletic Conference’s inaugural football
player of the year. Black rushed for 591 yards and 10 touchdowns,
passed for 242 yards and five scores, and averaged five tackles per
game on defense during the 2025 season as the Knights finished with
an unbeaten record for the third year in a row en route to winning
the FAC title. Pictured (from left to right) are Patton High School

Chris Taylor, Mason Black, Patton assistant coach Jason Webb, and
Liberty head coach Jason Black, the latter of whom is also Mason’s
father.

Liberty Middle School eighth grader Presley McCoy was recently
named the Foothills Athletic Conference’s inaugural volleyball
player of the year. McCoy totaled 111 assists, 92 kills, 84 digs,
65 aces, and a 93% serve percentage during the 2025 season as the
Lady Knights posted a 13-1 record, won the FAC regular-season
title, and were the runners-up during the conference tournament.
