The Valdese Plot Hounds Book Discussion Group will meet on Tuesday, Mar. 19, at 10 a.m. at the Valdese Public Library. The book to be discussed is, “Blackman’s Coffin” by Mark De Castrique.
The list of books chosen for 2024 will be available on the Valdese Plot Hounds Book Discussion group on Facebook and the library website.

Young Adult Programming
Spring officially begins this week, and YAS is ready to hop right into it! Monday, Mar. 18, at 4 p.m. is our monthly Anime Club at the C.B. Hildebrand Public Library followed by YAS Spring Tea Time on Tuesday, Mar. 19, at 6 p.m. at the Valdese Public Library. No pre-registration is required to attend either of these events.
Thursday, Mar. 21, at 4 p.m. at the Morganton Public Library we will be making Bubble Tea Keychains! Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure enough supplies are available.
Finally, Saturday, Mar. 23, at 1 p.m. at the Morganton Public Library is our next D&D @ The Library session. This session is for our advanced players group and pre-registration is required to attend.

Children’s Programming
We had such a great response to the Sip ‘N Solve day in January that the program will be offered again at the Valdese Public Library on Saturday, Mar. 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Drop in and enjoy some old-school fun doing jigsaw puzzles and sipping on some hot chocolate. This program is open to all ages, and we look forward to sippin’ and solvin’ with many of you!
Library Board of Trustees
The Burke County Public Library Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday, March 19, at 4 p.m. at the Valdese Public Library. An agenda packet is available on the library’s website at https://bcpls.org/index.php/librarytrustees/.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are needed at the Morganton Public Library to assist with landscape maintenance. We need some folks to help us keep our newly landscaped areas free of weeds and debris. If you would like to help call Library Director Jim Wilson at 764-9276 or email at jwilson@bcpls.org.
eBooks @ your library
Nearly 5,000 Burke County Public Library users have registered to use the library’s digital collection available through the e-iNC consortium and NC Kids Digital Library.
This digital collection includes eBooks, audiobooks, and streaming video available to Burke County Public Library cardholders. Apps are available for download for a variety of devices including Kindle, iPhone, and Android phones.
